How it works
- Type or paste names, one per line or separated by commas.
- Choose how many teams you want, or how many people go in each team.
- Press Fling them! and watch. Each name gets flung into a team bucket, one at a time.
- When every bucket is full, copy the teams or sort again with the same names.
Are the groups really random?
Yes. The names are shuffled with your browser's cryptographic random number generator, and each name goes to a randomly chosen team among the teams that currently have the fewest people.
Will the teams be even?
Always. A name can only land in a team that is tied for the fewest members, so team sizes never differ by more than one. Ten names in three teams gives teams of 4, 3 and 3.
Are my names uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything runs in your browser. Your list is saved only on your own device so it is there next time.
What can I use it for?
Classroom groups, PE teams, reading circles, game night, office projects, tournament brackets, or picking partners. Put it on the big screen and let everyone watch their name fly.
